TimeChimp (SaaS)
Besides coaching and guiding junior UX / UI, I aligned with the PO amongst development to execute vision.
It is the most complete time tracking tool. Easily record hours wherever and whenever you want via their handy online and mobile app. It saves time and effortlessly keep track of hours worked. The online time tracking software is perfect for teams and gives you direct insight into projects.
problem statement
Both founders started from a developer perspective and over the years forgot about users. For a redesign and related research, I used my knowledge and skills to gather information. Together with the Product Owner we created a plan and were able to work towards our goal and roadmap.
product goals
Create a Design System
Redesign the current software based on user insights, or collect them if not available
Research current users
User testing & interviews
Worked closely with PO & Stakeholders
approach
Interview all team members to find out the obstacles, lessons learned, and user feedback. Using this information, I knew what was missing and gathered this data as much as I could. Validated small prototypes and already rebuilt software for version 2.0, and put them on the backlog to be prioritized for the next sprint by the PO.
research methodes
Conducting Stakeholder and User interviews
Information architecture
Video tracking
Heatmaps
Card sorting
Prototyping
User testing (remote due to COVID)
design system
As part of a re-design and inconsistency of components of UI in the past, I was forced to seek guidance on the use of colors, components, and fonts. I imagine developers are frustrated by constantly creating new elements and not being able to reuse them.
Together with PO, we created a roadmap of what components and elements were priorities, what were showstoppers, and what were "nice to haves." Together we brainstormed ideas that could save some time in future development. We identified key areas that could be reused in future changes, hoping to streamline those early steps in setting up styles and also align design and development teams in a fast-paced environment.
